In line with our deepening collaboration on the Genesis Series, YOM is excited to announce its launch on the peaq L1 blockchain. We are evolving our native smart contract infrastructure — moving from Solana to peaq — to align with our strategic vision. While Solana served us well during our initial phases, the increasing noise from aggressively marketed meme tokens has overshadowed serious infrastructure projects like ours.
Over the coming months, we will be transitioning our token’s primary smart contracts from the SPL protocol to an EVM-based protocol on the peaq network. This new direction opens up access to liquidity sources and specific technical L1 support, backed by our friends at peaq.
What’s Next?
We recently launched our alpha network, running a node in Amsterdam that allowed teams in the US and the Philippines to play a third-person shooter in Unreal Engine 5 with low latency and high performance. This game was streamed via URL, Telegram, and now Chromecast. We did all this on a home gaming PC using an external hard disk running the YOM middleware — exactly how the network will operate once it reaches mainstream adoption.
The network is now aiming to expand with ~ 50 alpha testers owning home gaming rigs around the world and deploying the content to prove it: Domenation, K4 Rally, and … Well that’s for you to figure out by monitoring the channels closely. If you are interested in joining the test program, you can apply here.
Further details about the new contracts, move to peaq, and network rollout will be shared as we reach our key milestones. With peaq as our partner, we’re set to bring gamers deeper into the wonders of DePIN, strengthen our infrastructure, and extend our reach into 2025 and beyond.
